Why bother with another blog? I barely keep up with my other places.
Quite simply, this is to keep a running record of the process of my becoming a chaplain in the United States Army. After that, it can become my place for day-to-day thoughts on ministry and service.
My goal is to serve on active duty as a Chaplain in the US Army immediately after graduating seminary, and I know this is something that usually doesn't happen. Still, my desire is there and it's what I'll work towards.
The purpose behind all of that? Without getting too detailed into the theological framework that I'm working in (which could get exhaustive and pointlessly detailed), it is to serve Him by serving soldiers. I love God. I love soldiers. I love what Christ does for people, and that He is not known by soldiers bothers me. It bothers me that there is anyone who does not know Him, but in worship and in obedience, and with love for my fellow man - I want to serve as a chaplain.
Thus, here this blog stands, it can do no other.
